f. Promotion/marketing: Anita met with Suzanne Dean from the Sanpete Messenger today. We will be putting a 1”x2” ad in the paper twice a month (every other week). It will list the 5 topics-Science, Technology, Healthy Living, Engineering, and Citizenship. The website will be on the bottom of the ad. Suzanne will give us a 30% discount and if it is paid before print there will be another 10% discount. It will cost $28/month less 40%. Anita wants us to have an ad in the Fair, Election, and Home & Garden inserts that the Messenger does. The nice thing about these inserts is that they go to every home in the county. The Home & Garden insert costs $150.00 for ¼ of a page. There will also be a 27 sec. commercial on Centra.com (channel 10) that will be free of charge if Anita makes the commercial.
g. Sanpete County Fair: Anita would like to find a way to divide the exhibit building in half so that we could keep our side open longer. Cheryl has panels that may work for this. Calan Olsen is organizing a project called “Fun on the Farm”. It is a series of buildings that will be located in the county fairgrounds. Children will participate in various activities like: collecting eggs, feeding chickens, milking a cow. At the end they will market their goods, get play money, and trade it into the store for a treat (apple, string cheese, etc.) Calan would like to set up an account through 4-H where people could send in donations to complete this project. Account approved unanimously with motion 1-Karen and motion 2-Cheryl.
